Audio Discoveries – Click on links below to listen to audio tracks of Instruction and Large Muscle Discoveries. More coming this Summer…
- After hitting 300 shots a day for over a Month (to get the hands out of the entire swing)… WOW, listen how SOLID – 3 wood off the floor no tee, no mat into a net.
Listen Now Constant Grip Pressure, NO HANDS
- Setup with the hands like a “Bubble” even, equal pressure on the Last 3 fingers left hand… middle 2 fingers right hand… and the Life Line of the right hand (on top of Left Thumb). Maintain EQUAL GRIP PRESSURE AT THESE 3 POINTS DURING THE ENTIRE SWING. Keep your hands (Bubble) “Passive” during the whole swing.
Listen Now MOST SOLID CONSISTENT HITTING EVER
- Push the Takeaway with the Front Shoulder and keep pushing with it until its under your chin (do not let arms and hands take over and lift or help!)
Listen Now When the Left Shoulder Stops…START DOWNSWING with the hips unwinding left
- The Grip Pressure Discoveries:
Some other very raw recordings as I was discovering that, the more I controlled my grip pressure during the swing, the more the Large Muscles took over and the more solid and square the impact. Listen.
Passive Hinging at the top *
When you lose it, it’s grip pressure changing
Hands set and don’t change
Hands associate to the Front Shoulder
Discovered later that, if you setup with the shaft in line and push to the top with the front shoulder, the club head is in line with the front shoulder and shaft, and the hinge happens naturally. Like the club head was always in front of the push… But, if you setup with a bent wrist, this will not happen because the club head is behind the push and you would actively have to lift and hinge the club… BIG Discovery.

Ross,
Where have we been by going this far and not recognizing this problem with my grip pressure ? WOW !! Can’t wait to work on it. I never asked and I guess you assumed that I knew grip pressure was one of the most important aspects of the golf swing. Maybe my practice will have some meaning to it. Thanks for the audio’s and any other help you can give to over come my grip pressure problem. Jim
Jim, the learning curve is different for everyone. No one can learn everything at the same time. You have come a very long way in a very short period of time. We’ve worked on your setup and the basics and routine and all along there was mention of “Passive Hands”. You were also learning to use your shoulders on your takeaway and not slide, then unwind and completely rotate to face the target etc. This is about the right timing for the grip pressure light bulb to come on, as some of the other items that you spent time practicing are becoming part of your swing. Don’t beat yourself up. You’re doing great!!!
